Summer Game Fest is here. And no, there is no Kingdom Hearts 4. One of the actual things revealed, however, was Civilization VII. It will launch on consoles and PC in 2025.

It is a nice trailer, but I’ll take actual gameplay over fancy CGI any day.
Here is a breakdown of what to expect in Civilization VII:
“Rule as one of many legendary leaders from throughout history. Establish your civilization, construct cities and architectural wonders to expand your territory, conquer or cooperate with rival civilizations in pursuit of prosperity, and explore the far reaches of the unknown world. Will you build an empire that stands the test of time?”
Created by Sid Meier, the Civilization series kicked off in 1991 with the original eponymous name. There have been several different spinoffs and mainline games since then, with the latest release being Civilization VI in 2016. Its developer, Firaxis Games, is also responsible for the XCOM franchise.
Civilization VII is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S | X, and PC, Mac and Linux via Steam in 2025. There will be a gameplay showcase this August. You can wishlist the game on its official website. I can’t wait to change the course of history.
